“From My Mother’s Mother” is part of HGOco’s Song of Houston: East + West series of new chamber operas celebrating Houston as a crossroads of Eastern and Western cultures.

For the music HGOco engaged New York-based, Korean American composer Jeeyoung Kim, and for the libretto Janine Joseph, a doctoral candidate in the creative writing program at the University of Houston.
